The Delicious Dome
We made chocolate chip cookie dough truffles yesterday from the Beaches Ward blog. They don't contain any raw eggs so Leah could have the beaters. She was quiet for a long time then said, "Aunt Sue, this is DELICIOUS!" I wish I would have video taped it!
Today being the last day of our adult free adventure, the kids found a fun way to keep themselves contained and entertained, they build a fort in the family room with walls of pillows and blankets. The boys came up with the idea and are proud to call it the DOME. Now they can comfortably watch The Little Mermaid for the 148th time...no joke, the whole family knows all the words to the songs. At some very strange times one of them will break out in song and the others will join in...at the dinner table, when everyone is in bed, on the toilet, you just never know! Emily will usually start it with, "what's a fire and why does it...what's the word..." Then everyone will scream.. "burn" and all will continue!
This trip has really allowed the kids to spend time together and bond in a way that wouldn't be possible any other way. These are some memories that will live with them forever. Some time in the future if Russell doesn't remember, I'm sure the rest of them will have no problem reminding him how much he loves to be chased around the dining room table, how he hated the grass at first and now can't get enough, how Malcolm got up with him at 5am when he was so unhappy, and how he wears much more of his food than he eats! There is nothing better than hearing the symphony of five voices giggling in harmony!
