Man of Wings

There is always fun adventure when Gramma and Grampa come to town. My parents arrived Friday night. Why in the world they would leave 10 inches of snow and sub-zero temperatures to spend Christmas is 70 degree weather? I just don't know, maybe cuz all five grandkids live here! Emily had the opportunity to go down to Sea World in Orlando Saturday with some friends and Thomas was working so the boys and I went over to the Benson house for the day.

First stop on our adventure wasn't very far at all, the pool in the back yard where these dragonfly wings were floating. I couldn't pass up the Kodak moment..or in my world the Fuji moment.

Next stop was Anastasia Island State Park just outside of St. Augustine. Neither Rob's family or mine had been there and we were a bit disappointed to find the it was yet another beach front park. It was pretty and all, just not what we were looking for, still all was not lost I got some good pictures.

My Fuji moments are somewhat like a disease. Comes on without warning and has no cure. Do they have a support group for that...Fuji Anonymous?
I got pretty close to these guys, I think they thought I had food.

Then I got to close...oh well...

I couldn't tell if Niles just got tired or if he was going to try and jump through the lens. Like a good mother I watched and waited to see what he would do...Just kidding! I yelled at him, "Don't do it son, it's not worth it...don't jump!!!"

Malcolm had a great time with Leah! I think he enjoyed Emily being gone and having the kids all to himself.

Kendra thought this was a good picture as well...

Oh boy, what have we discovered? Must be something cool to have everyone's attention...well, everyone except Russy..he is off eating sand somewhere.

This is what they found, the remains of a crab...

Just the empty perfect shell.

Niles also found a smaller crab shell floating in the water. And he found this (with Kendra's help) near the restroom...Guess the poor little starfish didn't make it in time...

AND they found this in the waves near the shore...natural or artist's clay thrown in the water? we don't really know.

The boys cracked it open hoping to find a hidden treasure, but only found more sticky clay.
I found out a little secret on this adventure about my son Malcolm...don't tell him I told ya...but he has super powers. Yep. He's been practicing as you can see here...first to his right...

Then to his left....

Then with a shout, "UP, UP and....

"AWAY!!!" Yep. My son can fly...who knew?

A fun day of adventure was had by all at the park and my flying son never had to save a soul. I tried to get him to tell my what his super heroes name is...I imagine something the Super Flyer or Man of Wings...in fact I suggested a few but he just wouldn't tell me. Maybe someday.
We then headed to the outlet mall for some shopping but since Christmas is only a few days away I will not tell you anymore about that...other than I love Timberland!
