Foot Jewels Stardom

"Like OMG Mom, the 8th grade formal is Thursday and I stiiillll don't have shoes!" That was the most heard phrase in my house for the past week. Never mind that it's been pouring cats and dogs since Sunday. This was the view out my sun room window in the morning, afternoon AND evening for the past week. You want me to shoe shop in this?
"It's just water mom.." so we braved the nor'easter and went shoe shopping. This was not an easy task because of the color dress Emily chose. Which, I might add, she chose because she knew nobody else would have that color and as a bonus it made her hair look "FAB." After the fifth store we finally found these foot jewels.
She came home from school Thursday, I blew her hair out for her and added a little braid. I truly have a beautiful daughter inside and out...look at her....I just wanna kiss those cheeks that were once so chubby...Hey! is that mmmyyyy necklace?
Her partners in crime arrived just after we did, to the left is Kayla and the right is Payton.
"Ow girl..we look so fine.." It was like being on the red carpet at the Emmy's. All the students standing in the courtyard watching people arrive and commenting on their dapper appearances, parents snapping pictures and even a shout or two for me.."Ms. Lee! We MISS You." I too was a momentary star.
This is most of the rat pack that Emily runs with..well, not in school, there they walk in straight lines on the right side of the sidewalk following C.H.A.M.P.S....anyway, you get the point.
Emily's escort arrives...
And although I am sure he is fully capable of putting on a tie, Emily prides herself on the skill. Seriously. She will tie anyone necktie at church. In fact she will untie their ties just so she can tie them.

Aaahhhh middle school memories.....
Emily is a straight A student, a member of the volleyball and softball teams, vice president of the National Junior Honor Society, co-creator of the yearbook, and an all around GREAT kid! I couldn't be more proud of her. Doesn't everyone wish they could have their very own Emily?
Sorry..she all mine!
