This morning the boys decided it was crabbing day. At about 8:30am after grabbing the nets and buckets, Thomas, Malcolm and Niles went to Winn Dixie and bought some chicken and headed to
their new favorite spot...under the Atlantic Blvd
intercoastel bridge. This is one of the bigger ones.

A little
hermit crab got into a fight with the big guys over some chicken and ended up coming home with the rest of them. Obviously we will not be eating him since Niles is currently testing out different names for it.

On the platform of one of these
pylons is where they stand. Thomas tied the chicken to the wire nets that lay flat on the bottom until the crabs venture in, then they boys pull the sting closing the net and pull it up. Sometimes they are able to catch two or three at a time.

Here is the view in the other direction...

This is the view straight ahead. When I got there to bring them lunch, just to the right of this picture there were a few dolphins dancing and playing.
Unfortunately they were a bit to far out for my camera to capture clearly.

When the arrived it was low tide, when it was time to come get lunch during high tide it was a bit deeper. The path of rocks they created were not quite high enough coming back!

Not the biggest catch ever, but enough to make a good afternoon snack!
