Not a Designated Trail

Pot Hole Park is one of our favorite places in Minnesota..and Wisconsin. It is a state park that is on both sides of the St. Croix River that serves as the two states divider. The parks are valleys cut by the river. Today we went over the bridge into the Wisconsin State Park. As all good Lee Sprouts are taught in their youth, we took the path less traveled by..

So..we took the path..more like the hardly traveled trail. At least it had stairs.

The Sprouts climbed as high as they could and found this ledge. It's higher that it looks. I zoomed way way in. She doesn't look scared, but she is. Really. You should have heard the conversation before the picture.

Niles is smiling, but through his teeth he is pleading with Emily to hold on to him.

So we climbed. Then climbed some more. until through the trees....

We saw this...

Looking down, we saw this....

Across the river on the Minnesota side climbers were scaling the rocks. At least we had a hardly traveled trail and didn't need a harness.

We made it to the top, waved at the little people below then headed back down for two gallons of water!

Stay tuned for part two of this adventure....
