Lions and tigers and me..oh my!

Six kids (Emily, Malcolm, Niles,Leah, Russell and Emily's friend Kayla) and I loaded up to truck and went to the zoo! It was a perfect chilly morning and all the animals were out and about. This little guy isn't so little, and he was a fast swimmer!

Russy was mesmerized for a few minutes then wanted a closer look..

At the bottom of the tank is a crawl space enclosed with thick glass so the kids and a few daring adults can get an underwater close up look at the sea otters.

Russy was thrilled, he really wanted to jump in and play with the otter.

Leah wasn't quite as sure about the whole up close and personal thing.

She did, however, love the giraffes and wanted to feed them.

So she and Niles did.

We then hit the tree house play area....

Look at that wild animal!!! Oh wait..that's my son!

Metal statue shot one....

Metal statue shot two....

"GET ME OFF OF THIS" metal statue shot three...

Russy rocked forward and backwards to try and make this horse move faster...he got a bit frustrated with the old mare.

Leah was happy with it until Russy threatened to re-mount...you can see his little head approaching at the bottom and Leah's fabulous look of warning.

These flamingos were Leah's favorite cuz they were PINK..like her jacket, the flowers on her jeans and her very important lip gloss, or as she calls it her "Lick Glock".They look Orange to me , but whatever.

My boys favorite part? As expected..the snakes. What is it with boys and creepy, crawly, slimy things!

More play time. Leah and her body guards entering the maze...

Where's Leah?

Oh, there she is!!! She is sitting on Emily's shoulders, you can see a little speck of red hair in the green bushes.

Then it was my favorite part of the day. The petting zoo.

Emily gave Leah a green brush to use on this Pygmy goat, what was she thinking?

Leah needed the PINK brush..daaa!

Russy loved these guys....

And this Picture is why the petting zoo was my favorite part...
Obviously a good time was had by all!
