Emily was thrilled to have a little brother!
Eleven years have gone by...ELEVEN!!!
I remember being in the hospital after almost losing him and me, not being sure if his shoulder was broken or if there was irreversible nerve damage praying for our little boy. Asking the he would become a strong health boy and asking the Lord for all the gifts I hoped he would be blessed with. Eleven years later I have to say that my prayers were answered and more. Malcolm has the body of a lion and heart of a lamb. He is intelligent, patient, talented and kind. He has a gift for drawing and a sense of humor that is not seen in a kid his age. Malcolm would literally give the shirt of his back to anyone in need.
He has endured many trials in his short life. He didn't speak until he was three, thanks to intensive speech therapy and hard work on his part you would never know it today. Because of his speech delay conventional learning was difficult for him yet again, today you would never know it.
Malcolm is the kind of kid every mother hopes for and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity and the privilege of being able to say I am his mother. What a gift my son has been to everyone he knows...especially me! I love you son...Happy Birthday!
