A Little Piece of Heaven

I took these two shots last weekend when we went fishing in Mayport. I love them. Today they mean even more to me for some reason. I realize they are just shots of the sky. I am not the first person to take pictures such as these, not to mention they are taken on my little camera as I haven't replaced my good one yet (I think I'm still mourning that loss) so they could be better, but to me, today, they are perfect.
When I was a kid, I would lay in the grass looking up at the sky picturing formations like rams and bulls and they'd make me feel, wistful. Then as I grow older and watched them I looked beyond them and they became hopeful.
Then today the clouds started to part and the sun peeked through with such an amazing surprise that I actually felt ..peaceful...and grateful...and real joy. How long has it been since I was standing there? In a place of unconditional bliss? It was good. Really good.

It was...a tender mercy...a little piece of Heaven.....
